Today’s mama memory:
It must have been over 10 years since we were in a pool. She would wear a leopard bathing suit and a giant t-shirt over it. Her arms and legs are so tiny that they would go what felt like 100 miles per hour. She would swim like a dog, pushing her arms like an outward butterfly and legs like a bicycle.
After the countless swimming lessons I went to, I still could not swim. She would try to get me to swim to her. I wouldn’t. And she would then say ok – hold onto my neck we are going into the deep end. I remember the last time we did that my heart sank because she could not tread water for the both of us.
That was my mom. Come on – I will carry you – lets go!
She tried to carry me for so long.
Oh is it any wonder why she choose foot prints to be her legacy?!
