Today’s Accomplishment 9-12

Today was Anthony’s first day teaching as an instructor for a private collage.

Mommy would have been so proud of him.

Granted Anthony got the job that he did not get to tell her he got, but he got the job that she REALLY wanted him to get. When she heard that he would be teaching for a collage she said “That would be an excellent job. You get that, and you will be set. You could get a job anywhere doing anything.”

We had one more can of dr pepper zero strawberries and cream from when we went to the rehab facility. That is what we drank. We have been saving it for a time to toast to her.
The first time we did that, I was having a really bad moment about missing mommy. Anthony said we had to talk about the good memories with her.

He shared about how she came to the civil war reenactment with us. That she got to experience our world. And he glad she did.

I shared about all the fairs we went to, Build a bear and purium.

Tonight, we toasted to Anthony’s first day at the new job as a professor. His dream job. My mom would have been so incredibly proud of him for. Honestly, I could not think of a better way to toast to mommy then that. we even poured a glass for her.

Today, Anthony expressed that he misses being able to celebrate moments like today especially with his mother or my mother.

So I took the liberty in calling his mother and  trying to get her to call or text him to ask her to reach out to him. She said to me that if my son needs me he will reach out to me. I said no, for me, my dad knows I can reach him any time, but the grief has been so great that my dad has to go through Anthony to get to me.

She then said to me who said I don’t reach out to my son. I said I never said that. I am saying he needs his mother’s love and acceptance today as today is extremely significant.

She also told me that she told my mom that Anthony was in her life for a season and he was in her life for a season. Thats not a mother’s love. A Mother’s love is forever. My mother told my dad to make sure he took care of him. Thats a mother’s love.

She then said to me well what if I am sick, do you know what going on with me? I said you are on the phone with me now, you can be on the phone with your son.

At that point, is when she hung up on me.

So I texted her “Clearly you hung up on me…. All I am asking you to do is text your son telling him you are proud of him for starting the college teaching thing. That is it. He needs to know he is loved by his mother.
